Mars Planetary Habitat
A habitat designed for long-term human occupation within Jezero Crater, Mars.
Mangal Niketon is a compact extraterrestrial habitat designed to support four occupants within the extreme environmental conditions of Mars. Located in Jezero Crater, Mars, the project responds to the demands of long-term habitation through a lightweight and transport-efficient architectural system. The habitat is designed with a lightweight aluminum alloy structure to reduce overall mass while maintaining structural durability. Aerogel insulation is integrated into the envelope to provide thermal protection against severe Martian temperature fluctuations. The habitat is intended to be fabricated on Earth and transported to Mars within the payload capacity of SpaceX Starship. Its configuration combines living, research and support spaces within a compact volume while addressing environmental protection, material efficiency and deployment constraints. Designed for an occupancy of four people, Mangal Niketon explores a practical architectural framework for sustained human presence and scientific activity on Mars.
