Pandora's Cube
A compact physical interface for an expressive, wireless AI assistant.
Pandora’s Cube is a compact AI-enabled device designed around Cyan, a wireless conversational assistant built on an ESP32-C3. The system combines voice input, network communication, animated visual feedback and real-time AI responses within a small 3D-printed enclosure. Cyan captures spoken input through an integrated microphone, processes requests through cloud-based speech and language models then communicates responses through a character-based OLED interface. A library of animated expressions allows the assistant to visually react to conversation, giving the device a distinct personality beyond conventional text-based interfaces. Physical controls provide direct interaction while Wi-Fi connectivity allows the system to operate independently without a computer or local server. The project investigates how AI can transition from software into a tangible object, combining embedded electronics, interaction design and fabrication within a compact personal assistant.
